Gearing Up For Our Annual Meeting
PADZ is planning it's annual meeting for National
Dog Week, September 21-27. We're hoping for an exciting out-of-town
speaker for our meeting, and maybe even some other events to celebrate
National Dog Week. Get
in touch with us if you'd like to help out with organizing the festivities.

City Update
The wheels of change move slowly in municipal politics, but they are
moving steadily forward on the matter of off-leash recreation areas
in Encinitas. We've been promised a place on the city council meeting
agenda soon, so be ready to attend and show your support. We have support
at city hall, and we need to encourage continued forward motion.
New Dog Park Opens In Encinitas
A fenced,
off-leash dog park has opened in Encinitas at Rancho
Coastal Humane Society. Though small Cricket's
Corner is inviting and invigorating, and is already a popular destination.
The park is open during the shelter's regular hours - daily, 11am-5pm
(except Monday opening at 11:30). PADZ Board member Margarat Nee assisted
in developing the park's design and management.
Del Mar Fair
PADZ will have a booth at the Del Mar Fair again this year. We'll
be there for two, three-day weekends - June 20-22 and June 27-29. We
hope you'll stop by and see us, or even better, help us staff the booth!
It was a lot of fun last year, and
we're sure it will be even better this year. Volunteers take a
three-hour shift, and get a free pass to the fair good for the whole
day. You can even bring your crowd-friendly dog (and you get a parking
pass then!) Contact Board Member Susan Willhoit for more information
at 760.942.5088.
You can help!
Get involved with PADZ!
