What is a people and dog zone?

A people and dog zone is a place where people and their dogs can play together, These zones offer off-leash play areas for dogs while their people enjoy the park-like setting.

By providing safe enclosures, shade, water, and nearby parking, the city will afford people an opportunity to socialize with other people and their dogs. Persons with limited mobility, such as elderly and disabled dog owners deserve to have a safe and accessible place where they can meet other people and exercise their dogs.

For many people visiting a dog park is a primary source of recreation The ability to share activities with canine family members at a dog park is important, and a need increasingly recognized by cities.

These parks are an excellent venue for exchanging information on low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics, the microchip ID, dog training, and other information related to keeping the city's people and dog populations happy and healthy.

Dogs contribute immeasurably to their families' quality of life, thus helping to foster a sense of community for everyone. Making dog parks a priority creates a positive community spirit.
